The 27th annual Fall Festival of the Arts – presented by Christ Episcopal Church and Trinity Lutheran Church of Reading – has changed its format from two weekends of events in the fall to a schedule of events encompassing all the months of Fall. The series opens in September with an art show, organ concert, and acting workshop; continues in October with a family event, TaDa! and a recital by Broadway and Fulton Theater actress/singer Catherine Walker; in November performs a theater piece – Such Stuff as Dreams are Made On − an evening of scenes from Shakespeare, conceived, directed and produced by Reading director Susan Wagner; and concludes in December with a Holiday concert by Berks Classical Children’s Chorus. Special Notes: Venues are air-conditioned as necessary for the season. Parking is at the Trinity lot (free), the upper lot of M&T Bank only (free after 6 Mon–Sat, and Sun all day), and the Historic Abraham Lincoln/ Wyndham Hotel (fee charged).
2011 Highlights
Organ Concert, with Ken Cowan
Ken Cowan is one of North America's finest, most sought-after concert organists. A native of Thorold, Ontario, Mr. Cowan graduated from The Curtis Institute of Music and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. He is now Assistant Professor or Organ at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey.
An Evening of Song with Soprano Catherine Walker
Guest artist Catherine Walker began studying voice with Lancaster teacher and opera singer Jean Bradel, and went on to receive her BFA in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. Catherine made her Broadway debut with the original cast of the hit musical Mary Poppins, and became Broadway's second "Mary," flying over the heads (and into the hearts) of Broadway audiences for over 100 performances.

Enjoy an evening of "tragedy, comedy, history, pastoral, pastoral-comical, historic pastoral, scene individable, or poem unlimited" scenes familiar and less so from the pen of the master poet of the English language who teaches us all how to be human.
Art Show Opening Reception and Sale
A fine representation of varied media from the talented members of Christ Church and Trinity Lutheran Church with well-known special featured artists, Judith and Walter Krieger. This is your chance to meet the artists and staff of the Fall Festival! Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served.
